The key to good decision-making is not knowledge. It is understanding. We are swimming in the former. We are desperately lacking in the latter.”
― Malcolm Gladwell, Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the increasing amounts of data being collected and utilized for political action committee marketing. Human resource and membership files generally contain enormous amounts of valuable data about employees and members. However, getting the most from your data can be a challenge.
While information is important, the right information in the right hands is essential. Understanding what’s important to your PAC marketing efforts helps data management professionals and analysts evaluate what data counts, or more precisely, what data should be counted.
For more than a decade, Jordan Edmund has provided market research, data analytics, database administration and digital communications to hundreds of political action committees, candidates and associations. As the Information Services Director for Sagac Public Affairs, Jordan leads a team of researchers, analysts and database managers who slice and dice data to ensure Sagac’s clients are making good, actionable decisions for their political action committees.
Prior to joining Sagac, Jordan served as Deputy Campaign Manager for the Oklahoma Governor’s campaign in 2006. He was responsible for building and administering finance and grassroots databases for the state, as well as ethics compliance and fundraising support for the campaign. He began his career in 2001 with the Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2003 he assisted in the precinct operations division for the San Diego Republican Party amassing an army of volunteers for the County’s 2004 elections. Continuing in grassroots and field roles, Jordan then became a Regional Political Director for California Assembly races and in 2005 assisted Arnold Schwarzenegger’s California Recovery Team in finance operations.
According to Trey Richardson, Sagac’s Managing Partner, “Jordan brings great value to Sagac’s clientele through a unique grasp of the convergence of politics and data. His knowledge of market trends, their application to growing PACs and instincts for identifying actionable information sets Jordan apart as an unparalleled expert in political data operations for corporations and trade associations. Not only does he provide stellar service to existing clients, but he’s established a trusted rapport with America’s top political professionals seeking to make the most from their data-driven decisions.”
