Historic Contest Set for Mary Fallin
Congresswoman Mary Fallin defeated three opponents and won the Republican party’s nomination for the Oklahoma Governor’s race on July 27th, without even having the opportunity to vote for herself. Fallin made an emergency trip to Washington, D.C on election morning to vote on a supplemental funding bill for the war in Afghanistan.
Sagac Public Affairs worked closely with the Fallin campaign to raise a record setting amount, and will continue the fundraising momentum through the general election. Sagac raised an impressive $2.4 million for Fallin’s primary, as compared to Rep. Ernest Istook’s $1.7 million in the same election just four years ago.
Fallin now faces Democratic nominee and current Lt. Governor, Jari Askins in what will be considered one of the most historic governor races in not only Oklahoma, but the entire United States. This is one of only six other races in US history, where both candidates for governor are females.
Sagac is thrilled to be making history alongside Congresswoman Fallin in her race, and hopes to continue to set fundraising standards across the Country.
