April 4, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – APRIL 4, 2012 – Sagac Public Affairs announces that Daniel (“Dan”) J. Ekstein, formerly of JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Washington, D.C., has joined the firm as a partner. In this role Ekstein will focus on furthering strategic growth and enhancing client services for the public affairs firm.

Ekstein brings close to two decades of corporate and government affairs experience to Sagac.  He was most recently Vice President at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and director of JPMorgan Chase’s Political Action Committee (PAC) – one of the largest corporate PACs in the United States.  While at JPMorgan Chase, Ekstein designed and executed many of the firm’s civic and political engagement campaigns, including programs that changed the firm’s culture on employee engagement and expanded the public policy dialogue between the firm, policymakers and community leaders throughout the United States.

On announcing Ekstein’s appointment, Sagac founder and managing partner Trey Richardson said, “We’re excited to have Dan join the team.  Dan brings the firepower and foresight Sagac clients have come to expect from us.  His track record in building and managing big and successful advocacy programs is unparalleled.”

Rick Lazio, former Member of Congress and former head of Global Government Relations & Public Policy for JPMorgan Chase, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for Dan.  He adds tremendous value to Sagac and their clients because he knows how large organizations operate and how to get the job done.”

Before JPMorgan Chase, Ekstein held senior government affairs roles at Capital One and Washington Group International.  Ekstein was also president of the National Association of Business Political Action Committees, the largest national organization dedicated to promoting, defending and professionalizing PACs and political action professionals. NABPAC members collectively accounted for $125 million in PAC receipts during the 2010 election cycle.

Ekstein holds a B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Masters from The George Washington University.
